Mercedes W124 Coupe/Cabrio Seat Belt Presenter Cover: Broken Arm Fix (A1246920859)
Cracked or missing triangular cover on the seat belt presenter of your C124 or A124? Here is why it breaks and how to replace it on either side.
The C124 Coupe and A124 Cabriolet use a motorised seat belt presenter (also called a seat belt giver). It is an arm that extends to hand the belt to the driver and front passenger. A triangular plastic cover sits on top of that arm. After decades of cabin heat and sunlight, the cover often cracks or its clips break off.
This guide explains what to look for and how to fit the FIXHEN replacement cover, OEM A1246920859.
Fitment
| Model | Body | OEM |
|---|---|---|
| Mercedes-Benz C124 | Coupe | A1246920859 |
| Mercedes-Benz A124 | Cabriolet | A1246920859 |
The symmetrical design fits either the left or the right presenter.
Symptoms
- The cover is cracked or has fallen off completely.
- The mechanical arm is exposed at the base of the B-pillar.
- The trim near the belt holder rattles.
- The cover will not stay clipped onto the arm.
Why it breaks
The original plastic becomes brittle with heat and UV exposure. Every time the presenter extends and retracts, the mounting tabs take a small load, and eventually they crack. A missing cover also lets dust and debris into the arm's track.
Replacement overview
- Switch on the ignition and close the door so the presenter extends, then switch off. Or work with the arm in its rest position if you have enough access.
- Remove what is left of the old cover and any broken clip pieces.
- Clean the arm and check that it moves freely.
- Line up the new cover and press it on until it seats evenly.
- Run the presenter through a few cycles and check that nothing catches on the trim.
If the presenter arm itself does not move, the cause is the motor or the mechanism, not the cover. Diagnose that separately.

FAQ
Do I need separate left and right parts?
No. The same cover fits both sides. Order two if both are broken.
Does it fit the W124 sedan or estate?
No. Only the Coupe (C124) and Cabriolet (A124) have seat belt presenters.
Will it fix a presenter that doesn't extend?
No. The cover is trim only. A presenter that doesn't move has a mechanical or electrical fault.
